Mount Sheba Cottages

Exclusive Self-Catering For Nature Enthusiasts

Welcome to Mount Sheba Cottages
Escape into nature

Mount Sheba is a destination that offers exquisite natural beauty, peace and tranquility unlike any other resort. It is found at the end of a ten-kilometer-long road that winds through an indigenous rain forest to a grassy plateau in the Drakensberg mountains escarpment of Eastern Mpumalanga.

Set above the historic town of Pilgrims rest, Mount Sheba is situated in a declared nature reserve and promises to enchant nature lovers.  Enjoy breath-taking walks with abundant birdlife including seldom-seen birds (such as the Knysna Lourie, Narina Trogon, Mountain wagtail and the majestic Verraux eagle), See our extensive bird list here, protected samango monkeys, and crystal-clear streams and waterfalls. Lookout points among rocky outcrops resembling the ruins of an ancient city provide for magnificent views of the surrounding landscape, while the dense, pristine rainforest offers botanists many hours of exploration.

Fully equipped self-catering cottages offer a cozy haven for enjoying magical, misty days and starry nights beside wood fireplaces, making Mount Sheba the perfect escape into nature.

I have been visiting Mount Sheba regularly since 1988 and still enjoy it still as much as the first time due to the astonishing rain forest. My children calls it our home away from home. The cottages are superbly maintained and is even better than in 1988.

We are second Generation Mount Sheba visitors, as we have been going there since I was a child. It is our annual family get away, and the love of the resort and all of its nature hiking trails and proximity to Kruger National Park has kept it a family favourite. The beauty and serenity is second to none.

We love going to Mount Sheba. We started going there over 30 years and we really enjoy the hikes in the rainforest. It is just so peaceful and relaxing there, with such friendly staff.
After all these years, still a favourite holiday destination. Our whole family has enjoyed spending time at this beautiful destination, enjoying the natural beauty, relaxing and feeling rejuvenated after every visit. Already planning our next visit!

Beautiful and tranquil venue in a rain forest. The Cottages are well equipped with everything you will need for self-catering. One of the most beautifully decorated Timeshare Cottages that I have ever stayed in. There are two restaurants on site and a tuck shop. The Marcos Mantle and Gola Gola walking trails take you to the most beautiful waterfalls. I just love the Samango Monkeys, only found in rainforests.
